David’s Video of the Computers in Libraries 2007 InfoTubey Awards

by David Lee King on April 27, 2007

Quicktime .mov format | Youtube version

At the Computers in Libraries 2007 conference, Information Today held the first InfoTubey Awards. From their website, “[the Infotubey] awards will be presented to those organizations or individuals for outstanding YouTube productions. Premiering at the 2007 Computers in Libraries conference, these awards recognize those creating YouTube library-related productions. Awards will be presented to the top five productions that demonstrate creativity, humor, and sincerity (of course!) in marketing a library or library services or enhancing the library’s value.”

I created this video of the event… enjoy! Here’s the Powerpoint that went along with the event (some slides shown in the video).

*warning: this video is sorta big (41MB file), so it might take a little while to play/download/etc.*

**and it was a little dark in the room – I lightened it up a bit, but still dark nonetheless**

  • David- Thanks for sharing this! After reading your blog and everyone else's out there in libraryland, and watching your videos, seeing the presentations, etc., it's almost like being there. I wish I could have gone!

It's funny how you can read so much about what what people think, and interact with them online in a variety of social communities - you start to feel like you know people, like you've been friends for years, and then you remember that you haven't met half the people you are "friends" with.

Anyway, I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate all the effort you put into sharing what you know and your experiences.

What a great job you did pulling out the hightlights of our award ceremony! You may have missed your calling as a video editor. Don't quit your day job, tho--librarians need you to keep doing all the wonderful stuff you do for our industry.

    Rock On David!

    This is great, thanks.

BTW, just spotted this video by the Denver Public Library. Kind of cute.
