If every one of the county's residents wanted to use the library regularly, you would have no problem holding the millage election to give you as many resources as you needed to make them happy.

As opposed to 1000 true fans who buy things, what we need is 1000 true evangelists- patrons who don't just use library services but tell their friends and family about them.

The "currency" that the library deals in is goodwill- we need our county homeowners to feel good about the portion of their taxes that support us. We need them to feel proud of the standards set by the library and we need them to know that we are there for their use.

There's also an issue with being TOO successful... if every one of the county's residents wanted to use the library regularly, I think we'd have a real PR nightmare on our hands with our inability to handle the demand.
