by David Lee King on April 1, 2008

From my comments, someone just asked for a list of interesting librarian-related job titles. Can you guys help out? I’ll start the list off with some previous posts of mine:

Then add in a few others:

So – does anyone want to add to this list? Thanks!

  • How about Chief Identity Supervisor :)
  • Joan
    Information Goddess!!!
  • Hi. I'm an "e-learning librarian" at a TAFE college in Queensland, but my boss is thinking of changing my title to "learning technologies advisor" or "learning technologies librarian". Either one sounds good to me.
  • Toby
    How about Virtual Services Librarian?!
  • I'm Reference/Technology Librarian.
  • Heh, Head of Knowledge! You know you love it :)
  • I'm the Head of Knowledge and Innovation Services, courtesy of Darien Library.
  • Carmen Lebrón
    I am Information Resources Specialist.
  • dang! I need to get my title changed! :)
  • Ethelle Bean
How about Digital Access and Design Librarian for a title?
  • I was going to throw in UX librarian, but Meredith beat me to it (yes, it's my title and Brian's also).

Then there's Sarah's awesome title: Senior Librarian for Digital Futures (I believe). Any title with the word "future" in it is a winner in my book ;)
  • 2 more:
    Director of Community Engagement
    Director of Organizational Resources
  • I report to the Director of Research, Strategy & Innovation. Next week we have the new Director of Library Experiences starting.

Director of Research, Strategy & Innovation
    Director of Library Experiences

  • I love the title User Experience Librarian (I think that's both Amanda Etches-Johnson and Brian Matthews' job titles).

I like that my new title has the word "initiatives" in it (Head of Instructional Initiatives), because it connotes action/change/innovation.
  • Interesting list! I hadn't realized Nicole had evangelist in her title.

Both Kathryn Greenhill and I have "emerging technologies librarian" as (part of) our titles. (In my case, there some other words too.)
  • I'm an "E-Learning Librarian" but that's not that new either.
  • Digital Access Architect?? No-one can beat that!
  • Internet Services - not all that interesting but new-ish
