I just finished a webcast presentation for the SirsiDynix Institute titled Tinkering in the Techie Toybox: Staying on Top of Consumer Technology. As promised, here are some links mentioned in the presentation:
- Topeka & Shawnee County Public Library’s Techie Toybox - what we originally purchased
- Princeton Public Library’s Gadget Garage
- More info on Santa Cruz Public Libraries Technology Petting Zoo
- More info on Massachusetts Library Association’s Technology Petting Zoo: request for volunteers and the conference report
- WebJunction’s Creating a Technology Petting Zoo Webinar Recap
- What’s in Your Bag group on Flickr
And a copy of my slides (SirsiDynix recorded the presentation and will be posting that, probably within the next week or so).

Thanks for mentioning the Tech Petting Zoo webinar at WebJunction. I think Maurice and Annette did a great job talking about their experiences.

Thanks for including us and linking to our work, even though ours was more of a way to get people up and running with social software tools to help people with our 23 Things program. We only had laptops and links; we were petting the software, not the hardware/gadgets. Maybe we can use some of your ideas to do a new one on hardware (on a limited budget, of course). Thanks for the link. One of the TPZ3, along with Jessica Goodman and Sarah Harbison.

Seriously; I read your blog and it was very gratifying to see our work as a link.
