Ten Things to Think about when Designing Digital Experiences

I recently did my first guest post at another blog! Go check out Ten Things to Think about when Designing Digital Experiences at the Open Forum blog from American Express.

From the article: “Visitors to your digital space don’t want to think about interacting with your website. They want to—quickly and easily—make a purchase, find information, or have fun. It helps if they can be engaged and enchanted in the process. How can we facilitate this type of digital experience? These ten tips are a great place to start…”

Go visit the article to read my 10 tips (or just buy the book if you haven’t yet :-) ) … and comment there! I’m curious to see what happens.

I have been really enjoying the Designing the Digital Experience book! Thanks for all the useful information it contains.

When I clicked on the print icon in the Open Forum blog to print this article, it printed three pages that were essentially useless because the text was cut off so badly along the right margin. In designing the digital experience, it might be better not to offer a printer-friendly icon if that icon doesn’t actually render a printer-friendly version of your page(s).

Candice – thanks! I appreciate you telling me you’re getting some good stuff out of the book. Makes me smile every time :-)

As to the Open Forum post – I just emailed in the text; they formatted their blog. Not sure what’s up with the printing thing – just tried it. But nevertheless, I agree – printing IS part of the digital experience. I know I do it every single day, and making that seemingly little thing easy is a definite improvement in my book!
